Add products to your marketing email using recommendations (BETA)

If you've created a product library in your HubSpot account, you can automatically promote your best-selling, most recent, or best-priced products by using product recommendations in your marketing emails.

Requirements

  • You must create a product library before you can insert individual products into your emails.
  • Only users with Manage product library permissions in your HubSpot account can create, edit, or view products in the product library. Other users can still add products into emails, but they won't be able to modify the product's details, such as its default URL.

Insert and edit a product module

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Email.
  • In the top right, click Create email.
  • In the dialog box, select an email type.
  • Click the Drag and drop tab, then choose an email template.
  • Click and drag the Product module from the Content tab in the left pane directly into the email editor.

  • In the left sidebar, edit the details, styling, and layout of your products:
    • At the top of the sidebar, select Use product recommendations, then click the recommendation dropdown menu to select a filter:
      • Top sellers: shows and sorts products in order of popularity, based on how many are associated to a deal with a Deal probability property value of 100%.
      • Latest products: shows and sorts products based on the date they were added to your catalogue, with the newest first.
      • Price (high to low): show products by price in descending order (excludes discounts).
      • Price (low to high): show products by price in ascending order (excludes discounts).

Please note: if no products match the selected recommendation filter, or if you haven't yet added products to your product library, your email preview will feature placeholder content instead. You can still design and style this placeholder content so that your email is ready to send once product data is available.

    • Customize the orientation and arrangement of your listed products:
      • Click the Layout dropdown menu and select an option to change the orientation of your listed products.
      • If you chose a Vertical layout, you can enter the number of products you want to display on each row.
      • To show or hide specific fields of each product, select or clear the checkboxes next to the corresponding option.
    • Edit the styles of each product's ImageProduct nameDescriptionPrice, and Button by clicking the associated section.

    • To adjust the padding around the product module itself, you can click to toggle the Padding switch on/off to enable and edit the associated padding.
  • After you're done editing the details and design of your products, click Done at the top of the left sidebar. Continue designing the rest of your email, or click Review and send in the top right.
