By default, HubSpot's social tool will shorten links in your social post to a hubs.ly link. If you own a branded short domain on Bitly, you can connect your Bitly account to HubSpot.
After connecting your Bitly account, links in your social posts and tracking URLs created in the Tracking URL Builder be shortened using your branded short domain.
Connect a Bitly account to HubSpot
To connect a Bitly account, you must have All accessible accounts or Their connected accounts social permissions, or be a Super Admin. To connect your Bitly account:
- In your HubSpot account, click the settings icon in the main navigation bar.
- In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Marketing > Social.
- Click the Publishing tab and scroll down.
- In the Publish with custom short links section, click Connect.
- You'll be redirected to a new browser window to connect your Bitly account. Sign in with a connected social account, or click Sign in with your Bitly account.
- Review the requested permissions, then click Allow. After authorization, you'll be redirected back to the Publishing tab in your social settings. In the Publish with custom short links setting, you'll see the connected Bitly account.
Disconnect a Bitly account from HubSpot
Removing the Bitly app from your Connected apps settings will not disconnect the account. To disconnect the account, you'll need to remove the account from your social publishing settings. You will need All accessible accounts or Their connected accounts social permissions, or be a Super Admin.
To disconnect your Bitly account:
- In your HubSpot account, click the settings icon in the main navigation bar.
- In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Marketing > Social.
- Click the Publishing tab and scroll down.
- In the Publish with custom short links section, click Disconnect.
