Set up a cookie banner with the new editor

If your account was created after November 2nd, 2022, you'll use the new cookie policy editor to customize your cookie banner. In this new version, you'll begin by selecting a domain before editing your policy as per the existing process. Below, learn how to get started setting up a cookie policy with the new editor.

Before you get started

To set up a cookie policy with the new editor, HubSpot will need to verify the website domain you're adding the banner to. To verify a domain with HubSpot, you'll either need to connect it to your HubSpot account, or add the tracking code to your external domain.

Set up your cookie policy

If you're a super admin or a user with permission to edit website settings, continue reading how to set up and edit cookie policies.

• In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Privacy & Consent.
• Click the Cookies tab.
• To set up a cookie policy for a domain that's already connected to the account:
  • Under Manage All Domains, click Manage next to the domain, which will be marked as having an Inactive policy.
    
    
  • On the next screen, click App policy.
  • In the right sidebar, continue to set up your policy details using the instructions given for the existing process.

Please note: you will not need to specify the cookie policy domain in the new editor, as you already selected the domain during the first step of this process.

• To set up a cookie policy for an external domain:
  • Click Add external domain.
  • In the dialog box, enter the domain or subdomain URL.
  • Click Add domain. HubSpot will then attempt to verify the domain based on whether the tracking code is present at the specified URL.
  • Once verified, continue to set up your policy in the right sidebar.
