Prevent contact properties from being updated through the tracking code API

In your HubSpot account, you can prevent contact properties from being updated by the tracking code API. This setting will not impact other APIs that you might use for updating contact properties, such as the forms API.

Please note: this functionality is only available for accounts created before September 8, 2021. If your account was created after that date, contact properties in your account cannot be updated through the tracking code API.

To prevent contact properties from being updating through the tracking code API:

• In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Tracking & Analytics > Tracking Code.
• Click the Advanced Tracking tab.
• Click to toggle the Allow tracked events to update contact properties switch off.
  
  
• Click Save.
